Girls’ Generation 1st Asia Tour: Into the New World is the first concert tour by South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation. Although the first concerts were scheduled in South Korea, they have started their international concerts with Shanghai, China in April 2010. As of December 2010, it was announced that there would be no more stops for the concert tour.

The SNSD‘s tour was announced by SM Entertainment in November 2009.The tickets for the tour went on sale on November 19, and they were sold out in 3 minutes. And the tour initially consisted of two Korean shows on December 19 and 20, 2009. It was later announced that the group would have two “Encore” shows for February 27 and 28, 2010. The Encore concert from February 27/28, 2010 was different from their concert last December in terms of set list.

SNSD next concert, originally scheduled for July 24, 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand, has been postponed indefinitely due to the Thailand political situation. And the live album Into the New World was recorded for this concert tour, and was released on December 30, 2010 in South Korea. [wikipedia]

On August 17th, SNSD releasing a DVD set of their high-popular tour, which hit Seoul, Shanghai, and Taipei! Produced by SM Entertainment and SBS Contents Hub, the DVD contains footage from the girls’ encore concert at the Olympic Park Fencing Arena. Titled SNSD the 1st ASIA TOUR – Into the New World. The set is divided into two parts, containing performances of their hit tracks Girls’ Generation, Baby Baby, Oh!, and Gee, as well as solo performances like Yuri‘s 1, 2 Step and YoonA‘s Introduce Someone Nice to Me. Fans will also find rehearsal performances and footage of the members backstage, along with personal interviews.
